Each time we launch Bootcamp applications I get a little bit more nervous - what if this time no one applies?! What if nobody hears about it?! We purposefully put a lot of resources and staff time into the recruitment period - because it’s vital to the success of Bootcamp that we have great participants who are going to go on and use the skills they learn to create effective campaigns!
I’m so pleased that once again - with so many people’s help we’ve attracted a big range of fantastic applicants for Bootcamp 5 in October. Over 200 people applied for the 35 spots available! I’m so grateful to every single one of you who tweeted, posted to facebook, emailed friends and colleagues and generally shouted from the rooftops! THANK YOU!
We’ve got roughly 17 scholarship places for this Bootcamp - the most we’ve ever had! It’s really exciting because the scholarships mean we can train grassroots activists who really need the skills and community to take their campaigns to the next level.
From the applications we’ve read so far - they are really high quality and interesting, from all across the UK and from people working on a massive range of issues. It’s going to be very very difficult to narrow it down.
Now we have the mammoth task of reading through each application carefully, selecting people to interview and finding the final cohort. If you’ve applied this time around, you’ll hear from us by Monday evening on whether you’ve got an interview or not.
Watch this space for updates on who is coming to Bootcamp! Thank you for all the help you gave to get us to this point.
