New Scholarship! Save the Children's Jo Cox Memorial Scholarship

I’m really happy to announce that we have launched a new scholarship specifically for women. The Save the Children Jo Cox Memorial Scholarship will cover the costs for three women to access Campaign Bootcamp’s training for free. This is a new pilot scholarship that is available for Bootcamp 9; applications for which are now open - get to it! The deadline to apply is 9am on Wednesday 15th March

We have launched this scholarship in memory of Jo Cox, former MP for Batley and Spen, Yorkshire, who was murdered last year. To honour Jo, the scholarship will cover some of the issues she was most passionate about, so as to continue the work she started. We are interested in hearing from women who campaign on any of the following issues:

  1. Conflict and humanitarian issues
  2. Global Poverty
  3. Poverty in the UK

We are inviting women of all backgrounds living in the UK, particularly those living in Yorkshire, to apply for this scholarship - that includes disabled women, black women and women of colour, queer women, trans women, intersex women, working class women, migrant women, survivors, women with mental health problems, women of faith, young women (over 18) and old women.

On the last Campaign Bootcamp, over 75% of the bootcampers were women and/or gender variant folk - you can check out who attended Bootcamp 8 here.

Here at Bootcamp we aim to question the imbalance society systematically imposes on us...that includes the patriarchy. That’s why we’re proud to be able to continue this work to build the confidence, networks and skillset of women campaigners through this scholarship.

If you're successful in getting a scholarship you'll get access to the full year long Campaign Bootcamp programme. It starts with a week of intensive training where you'll learn hard skills for your activism, build your confidence and broaden your activist community. The syllabus includes planning a campaign, working with the media, fundraising, choosing your tactics, building websites, coding and much more. After the residential is over you'll get assigned a mentor, and receive follow up training and community support.

If you're a grassroots campaigner this scholarship can cover the full fee of coming on Bootcamp (£3500) if required.
