A year ago we opened the doors to the first Campaign Bootcamp. It was an experiment - we had a hunch that there was a need for expert, fun, supportive campaign training in the UK. It’s safe to say that we were all a little gobsmacked at how successful our experiment was.
As it came to an end the amazing 30 trainees presented us with a cheque - to help us do the next Campaign Bootcamp. I’ll always remember that moment, I was gobsmacked, speechless. It changed the course of my life, because it convinced me that Bootcamp had to continue.
Since the first Bootcamp we’ve been figuring out how to grow Bootcamp, so that it helps build a radically more successful and diverse campaign sector. It hasn’t always been easy, we want to challenge the sector to be more ambitious, effective and diverse.
Luckily we’ve some amazing groups have rallied around to cheer us on, with advice and financial support. We owe huge thanks to the groups that have supported us so far, including 38 Degrees, SumOfUs, ActionAid, Save The Children, CAFOD, Tearfund, Friends of the Earth, Christian Aid, The Roddick Foundation, BetterWorld, Greenpeace, Scope.
Today we have some really exciting news, we have a new supporter. UnLtd has awarded us £20,000 from their fast growth fund to help us figure out how we scale. This is a huge deal for us, not only is it a lot of money, but they’ll be linking us with experts who will help us figure out how to scale while improving the quality of our trainings. Massive thanks to the UnLtd team for believing in us! I can’t wait to see what the next year brings!
